READ 718 is a Brooklyn based non-profit organization providing individualized reading instruction and literacy mentorship to low-income students in grades 3-8 who are reading below grade level. We know that strong literacy skills are essential for school success and lifelong learning, and that direct instruction is often necessary to support students’ literacy development beyond the early grades. READ 718 aims to help all children achieve success in school and develop a love of reading by partnering students with a committed and trained volunteer in a safe, supportive environment.
